Abstract

Ideologi negara Pancasila seringkali tidak dianggap vital sebagai dasar negara negara Indonesia. Tulisan ini menggunakan metodologi penelitian kualitatif, yaitu pencarian literatur dan pembahasan mendalam. Literatur utama diambil dari pandangan para Founding Fathers: Soekarno, Moh Hatta, Soepomo, dan Muh Yamin ketika memprakarsai Pancasila di Sidang BPUPKI dan PPKI. Hasil penelitian memberikan gambaran bahwa Sistem pemilihan langsung sebagai bentuk modern dari format demokrasi yang mengutamakan hak asasi manusia diadopsi dari prinsip-prinsip Barat. Sistem pemilihan langsung, baik legislatif maupun langsung pemilihan presiden sejak tahun 2004, dan pemilihan kepala daerah secara langsung sejak tahun 2005, merupakan ilustrasi format demokrasi Eropa, yang dianut pada Era Reformasi. Itu terpisah pola dari situasi yang belum pernah terjadi sebelumnya, baik sebelum kemerdekaan kita di desa-desa di seluruh tanah air, maupun pada masa Pemerintahan Presiden Soekarno di Masa Lalu Orde dan pemerintahan Presiden Soeharto pada era Orde Baru. Jadi demokrasi Indonesia adalah demokrasi ala Barat yang coba diintegrasikan dan dilekatkan menjadi gagasan demokrasi di Indonesia.
