Abstract

The development of digital medical technology is an aspect of research and technological progress that has brought about significant changes to the modern healthcare system. This transformation is inseparable from the contribution of basic sciences, including biology, chemistry, and physics, as the primary foundation for the development of medical science and technology. This study aims to analyze the contribution of basic sciences to digital medical technology innovation and to understand its use, advantages, and challenges in its implementation in the healthcare sector. The approach used in this study is qualitative, using a literature review method. The data sources used are secondary data in the form of scientific books, national and international journals, and official documents from relevant health institutions. Data collection techniques were conducted through literature searches, document analysis, and systematic recording of materials related to this topic. The collected data were then analyzed using a descriptive-analytical approach by categorizing concepts, interpreting content, and linking Basic Natural Science theories with developments in digital medical technology. The results of this study indicate that Basic Natural Science plays a very important role as a conceptual and methodological foundation for digital medical technology innovations such as telemedicine, electronic medical records, mobile health, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Medical Things, and clinical decision support systems. The use of these technologies has been proven to increase efficiency in health services, diagnostic accuracy, treatment effectiveness, and expand access to medical services. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that increasing mastery of Basic Natural Science is a key factor in supporting sustainable innovation in digital medical technology. The implications of this study demonstrate the importance of integrating Basic Natural Science in health education and research to produce competent, adaptive, and responsible human resources in facing advances in medical technology in the digital era.
