Abstract

This study examines the development of three Abrahamic religions—Judaism, Christianity, and Islam—through a qualitative approach with descriptive-historical analysis. The research focuses on three main areas: the reconstruction of the origins and historical trajectories of each religion, the socio-political dynamics that influence the formation of religious doctrines and practices, and the relevance of all three traditions in the context of modern society. The research findings indicate that all three traditions are rooted in Abrahamic monotheism, but their development processes are shaped by a multi-layered interaction between theological teachings, power structures, colonial experiences, modernization movements, and global geopolitical changes. This study also identifies that various conflicts often perceived as religious conflicts are essentially triggered more by political interests, authority struggles, and social factors, rather than doctrinal differences. In the contemporary context, globalization, the flow of secularization, and the intensification of interfaith dialogue are important elements that influence how the three Abrahamic religions adapt to changing social realities. Overall, this study enriches academic perspectives on the historical relationship between religion, power, and society, and offers a relevant analytical basis for the study of religion in the modern era.
