The concept of the ummah and the idea of global unity are central themes in Islamic thought, especially in the study of theology which is the foundation of the theology and philosophy of the Islamic faith. From the perspective of theology, the ummah is not merely understood as an ethnic group or political community, but as a spiritual and ethical unity bound by beliefs in monotheism, apostleship, and the day of judgment. This unity is built on the basis that Muslims are a unity that supports each other in upholding the values of faith and justice. Modern theological thinkers such as Muhammad Abduh, Said Nursi, and Fazlur Rahman later expanded this meaning by highlighting the importance of renewal of thought, improvement of education, and social development as a means to strengthen the solidarity of the people in the era of globalization of justice, compassion.
