Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has significantly impacted higher education, particularly among students. Students in the Sharia Insurance program are increasingly utilizing AI to support academic tasks such as writing papers, compiling reports, and processing data. However, the use of AI also introduces new challenges in academic ethics, including AI-driven plagiarism, technology dependence, and a decline in critical thinking skills. This article aims to examine the use of AI among Sharia Insurance students and identify emerging ethical challenges in academic settings. A qualitative approach is employed through literature analysis from various academic journals and recent educational policies. The findings reveal that while AI facilitates academic work, students must be equipped with a strong understanding of academic ethics to ensure technology use does not violate principles of honesty and scientific responsibility. Active involvement from lecturers and institutions is essential in formulating ethical guidelines for AI use within the academic environment.
