Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have an important and strategic role in national economic development. As much as 60% (sixty percent) of Indonesia's economic strength is in the MSME industrial sector. The number of MSMEs in Indonesia has increased quite significantly every year. However, there are still quite a lot of MSME industry players in Indonesia who have not registered their trademarks due to limited capital and a lack of understanding of the benefits of trademark registration for the MSME industry. Thus, MSMEs that do not register their trademarks do not receive legal protection, because a trademark will receive legal protection if the trademark has been registered. Thus, policies are needed that regulate the MSME industry in Indonesia to obtain legal protection for their trademarks. So this research will examine how legal protection efforts are taken for MSME industrial brands in the Sumedang area. This research uses normative juridical research methods based on knowledge obtained from various sources such as books and the internet.
