Abstract

Education plays an important role in developing students’ religious and social character. Islamic Religious Education (IRE) aims not only at cognitive understanding of religious knowledge but also at internalizing Islamic values in students’ daily behavior. This study analyzes the synergy between the Islamic Religious Education curriculum and school culture in building students’ religious and social character at SD Al-Washliyah 85 Suka Jadi. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, involving the school principal, teachers, and students as research participants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the IRE curriculum is implemented in synergy with school culture through religious and social habituation activities, including congregational prayers, Qur’an recitation, cooperative learning, social service activities, and teacher role modeling. This integration creates a supportive environment that encourages students to practice religious values and social responsibility. The study concludes that curriculum–culture synergy plays a significant role in strengthening students’ religious and social character.
