Abstract

Improving the pedagogical competence of Islamic Religious Education teachers in designing in-depth and student-centered learning is a crucial challenge at the elementary school level. This study aims to analyze the implementation strategies of an effective and student-oriented Islamic Religious Education curriculum at SDIT Al-Quran Assakinah Medan. Using a qualitative exploratory case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document studies. The results revealed that effective Islamic Religious Education learning is achieved through the integration and contextualization of materials, the use of participatory methods, and authentic evaluation that measures character development, while the student-oriented approach is realized through differentiation strategies, providing learning autonomy, and project-based learning that reflects Islamic values in real contexts. These findings indicate that the success of curriculum implementation depends on the transformation of the teacher's role as a facilitator and the creation of a collaborative learning ecosystem, thus implicating the importance of teacher capacity development and school environment design that supports the holistic internalization of values.
