Abstract

Women have a strategic role in economic development, especially in the micro and informal business sectors. In Indonesia, around 60% of micro and small business actors are women, but they still face structural and cultural barriers in accessing financing, training, and economic resources that are fair and in accordance with sharia principles. Islamic microeconomics is present as an alternative financial system that emphasizes the principles of justice, prohibition of usury, transparency, and equitable distribution of resources. Islamic microfinance institutions such as BMT, Micro Waqf Bank, and Sharia Cooperatives have contributed to supporting women's businesses, but their distribution is not yet even and their programmatic approach is not fully responsive to the specific needs of women, especially in rural and coastal areas. This study aims to analyze how the transformation of Islamic microeconomics through the integration of maqāṣid al-syarī'ah values can support women's economic empowerment in an inclusive manner. The method used is qualitative research with a juridical-normative approach and data collection techniques through primary and secondary literature documentation. The results of the study show that the transformation of Islamic microeconomics oriented towards maqāṣid al-syarī'ah is able to strengthen gender justice, increase women's access to sharia financing, and encourage women's active role in sustainable economic development.
